Planning a trip? Taking your beloved pet with you? Traveling with dogs, especially big dogs can be complicated and challenging.
Imagine moving a German Shepherd, Newfoundland, Great Dane, Rhodesian Ridgeback, or an Irish Wolfhound. Whether you travel by air, or in the car, getting a dog from here to there takes some planning.
On a recent episode of Animal Movers, a German Shepherd made the journey from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Pisa, Italy.
The German Shepherd Dog is hailed as the world’s leading police, guard and military dog, and is consistently one of the United States’ most popular breeds, according to the American Kennel Club. Energetic and fun-loving, he is a loyal family pet and a good guard dog. Moving this loyal guy required a lot of planning and preparation, as this handsome canine was relocated with his owner, a famous executive chef, from “Sin City” to the beautiful rolling hills of Tuscany, Italy.
In that same episode of Animal Movers, an enormous, cuddly Newfoundland dog also traveled by air from Dallas, Texas to San Diego, California to reunite with his family.
While the Newfoundland is known for their giant size, (they can weigh as much as 150-200 pounds!), they are also dogs of tremendous strength and calm dispositions. Sweet and intelligent, they are also patient, playful, and loving with children; not to mention excellent swimmers, with their massive webbed paws to give them maximum propulsion in the water.
Newfoundland dogs, like German Shepherds, are extremely loyal. Both breeds are also known for starring on the big screen in movies that made these dogs famous: Rin Tin Tin was a German Shepherd and “Nana,” the beloved dog guardian in Peter Pan, was a Newfoundland.
Famous or not, your pet is part of your family. So, if you’re planning on traveling with or relocating your loyal companion, it’s a good idea to leave it to the professionals and hire a pet transport company, like Pacific Pet Transport, in Los Angeles, California. When any pet travels by air, the necessary paperwork must be complete, veterinary records and vaccinations must be current, the proper pet supplies must be on hand, and transporting the dog or cat in the proper size crate is imperative for the safety and happiness of the pet.
Whether your pets need to be moved locally, nationally, or worldwide, your pet’s safe and stress-free experience is a must!
